Basketball Game Preview: Cardinal Mooney Cardinals vs. Crestwood Red Devils

The Cardinal Mooney Cardinals are taking a road trip to take on the Crestwood Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Friday, Cardinal Mooney ended up a good deal behind Ursuline and lost 61-47. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 52nd).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Crestwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 87-35 victory over St. John. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Cardinal Mooney better keep an eye on Steven Lincoln. He was instrumental in Crestwood's win, going 11-for-16 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points. Those 33 points gave Lincoln a new career-high. Dekota Johnson was another key player, shooting 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten boards.

Crestwood has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which somehow still isn't as good as their 17-4 record this season. As for Cardinal Mooney, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 15 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
