Football Recap: Crawford County Eagles vs. Atkinson County Rebels

After flying high against Marion County last Friday, Crawford County came back down to earth. The Eagles were dealt a 49-21 loss at the hands of the Atkinson County Rebels on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since September 13, 2024.

Despite the loss, Crawford County still got an impressive performance from Charles Anderson, who rushed for 92 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also picked up 42 receiving yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 65 yards.

Atkinson County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Darrian Roberts, who rushed for 192 yards and three scores while picking up 12.0 yards per carry. Roberts is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Israel Baza was another key player, rushing for 113 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.

Crawford County's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Atkinson County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.
