Denver City is 8-2 against Littlefield since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mustangs will square off against the Wildcats. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Denver City 3.5, Littlefield 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Denver City is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Kermit get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won seven in a row.

Kermit's batters probably weren't too happy with Jacen Ya?ez, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up zero walks).

At the plate, Denver City's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Samrey Garcia, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Littlefield got the win against Dalhart on Saturday by a conclusive 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 15 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Littlefield is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Denver City, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.

Everything went Denver City's way against Littlefield in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Denver City made off with an 11-4 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
