Soccer Game Preview: Christ Covenant vs. Community Christian

The Christ Covenant Spartans will face off against the Community Christian Cyclones at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Christ Covenant sitting on five straight victories and Community Christian on eight.

Christ Covenant proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a goal and slipped past Gramercy Christian 3-2.

Caroline Gibbs and Lydia Taylor scored all three of Christ Covenant's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 42 goals.

Meanwhile, Community Christian kept a clean sheet against Trinity Christian on Friday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 7-0 win. Community Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by four goals or more this season.

Community Christian's victory bumped their record up to 16-1-2. As for Christ Covenant, their win bumped their record up to 11-3-1.

Christ Covenant came up short against Community Christian in their previous meeting back in March, falling 3-1. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
