Valparaiso proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by three) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Crown Point Bulldogs 3-2. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Valparaiso had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 24-26, 25-15, 25-15, 15-13.

Owen Morris paced Valparaiso's offense, picking up 18 kills. Morris were helped by Henry Danko and Colton Allen, who contributed 14 assists each. Morris was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, Crown Point still got an impressive performance from Aiden Matthews, who had six digs and two aces.

Valparaiso now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Crown Point, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Valparaiso didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Hammond Bishop Noll on the 8th. As for Crown Point, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Illiana Christian on the 9th.
