Baseball Recap: Beaufort Academy Comes Up Short

Beaufort Academy easily dispatched Battery Creek last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Eagles fell just short of the Thomas Heyward Academy Rebels by a score of 14-12 on Wednesday.

Franklin Savage was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nic Shuford, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Beaufort Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, they moved to 2-6 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Beaufort Academy will head out to take on Andrew Jackson Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Coastal HomeSchool at 5:00 p.m.
