Soccer Game Preview: Marshall vs. Texas

The Marshall Mavericks will head out to face off against the Texas Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshall's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Marshall lost 4-1 to Hallsville on Tuesday.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Texas came up short against Mt. Pleasant, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Texas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 590th in Texas, while Mt. Pleasant is ranked 27th in Texas).

Texas has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches. That's still a better percentage than their 1-9 record this season. Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
