Volleyball Recap: Ridgeline Takes Down Dixie in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Ridgeline rose to the challenge on Monday. They came out on top against the Dixie Flyers by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Riverhawks, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lili Madsen paced Ridgeline's offense, picking up 14 kills. Madsen got some help from Sophie Larsen and her 22 assists. Teagan Sabillon controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Dixie's loss came despite strong showings from MJ Mauinatu and Alissa Braegger. Mauinatu had nine digs and two blocks, while Braegger had 12 digs, six kills, three aces, and one block. Mauinatu has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last 21 times she's played.

Ridgeline has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Dixie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-12 record this season.

Ridgeline has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Desert Hills on the 27th. As for Dixie, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Park City on the 27th.
