Basketball Recap: Stanley Carnahan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Collinsville over Edwardsville

Collinsville lost against Edwardsville back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Collinsville Kahoks took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edwardsville Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Kahoks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Tigers are ranked 15th).

Collinsville lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Stanley Carnahan, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Chase Reynolds, who earned ten points.

Collinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Edwardsville, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collinsville will challenge East St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Edwardsville, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Staunton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Staunton has won four straight at home, while Edwardsville won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
