Basketball Preview: Coral Gables Cavaliers vs. St. Brendan Sabres        
        
		
             The Coral Gables Cavaliers are taking a road trip to  take on the St. Brendan Sabres  at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
 Coral Gables is headed into the  game out to prove that what happened against Immaculata-La Salle  last Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Coral Gables lost  56-33 to Immaculata-La Salle. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the Royal Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
 Despite their  defeat, Coral Gables saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Jasmin Abu-Zaraybah, who  scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of  Veronica Trueba, who  had seven points.
 Meanwhile,  St. Brendan's undefeated season came to an end after  three games  on Tuesday. They were  outmatched by Hebrew Academy on the road  and fell  44-7. The Sabres were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
  Gia Patchen was St. Brendan's leading scorer, having posted three points.
 St. Brendan's loss  ended  a  four-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 3-1. As for Coral Gables, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
 Coral Gables came up short against St. Brendan when the teams last played  back in December of 2023, falling  59-49. Can Coral Gables avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
