Basketball Game Preview: Ursuline Academy Raiders vs. Sanford Warriors

Ursuline Academy is 2-8 against Sanford since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Ursuline Academy Raiders will host the Sanford Warriors at 7:15 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Ursuline Academy sitting on three straight wins and Sanford on nine.

Ursuline Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Cape Henlopen, who was ranked ninth at the time (Ursuline Academy was ranked second). Ursuline Academy came out on top against Cape Henlopen by a score of 64-53 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Sanford took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 66-29 victory over Howard. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 28 points or more this season.

Sanford pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.2 points over those games. As for Ursuline Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
