Football Recap: Aidan Burke and Keziah Joplin Pace Mingo Central Defense + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Mingo Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 24-14 win over the James Monroe Mavericks on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Miners, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

It was another big night for Bam Coleman, who rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August. Terrindez Bryant got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Bryant, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Mingo Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Aidan Burke and Keziah Joplin.

Mingo Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for James Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Coming up, Mingo Central will face off against Frankfort at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Miners will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 31 points in their last six games. James Monroe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
