Sartell-St. Stephen took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Rocori, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Sabres had just enough and edged out the Spartans 3-2. For the Sabres, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Sartell-St. Stephen who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-8.

Gabby Schulte paced Sartell-St. Stephen's offense, picking up 14 kills. Schulte got some help from Kate Thompson and her 45 assists. Finally, Olivia Terhune kept Sartell-St. Stephen's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

The win got Sartell-St. Stephen back to even at 5-5. As for Rocori, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
