Baseball Recap: Key West Takes a Loss

Key West lost against Monsignor Pace back in May of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Key West took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monsignor Pace.

Key West got a good showing from Kasey Kasper, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Kasper has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Sam Holland was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kade Maltz, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Key West's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Monsignor Pace, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Key West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Sports Leadership & Management on the 28th. As for Monsignor Pace, they will welcome Dr. Krop at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dr. Krop will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
