Merritt Island had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Satellite Scorpions 3-0 on Saturday. The Mustangs are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 21 straight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Merritt Island to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sarah Niazi, who had 14 digs. Annabelle Jones was another key player, getting seven aces and four digs.

Merritt Island was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 12 consecutive matchups.

Despite the defeat, Satellite saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cady Tinch had 21 digs and four assists. Tinch is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Merritt Island's record is now 27-2. As for Satellite, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.
