Baseball Game Preview: Dougherty Valley Wildcats vs. California Grizzlies

Dougherty Valley hasn't had much luck against California recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. Dougherty Valley has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Dougherty Valley's last matchup with Amador Valley could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest last Wednesday. The Wildcats lost 11-1 to the Dons.

Dougherty Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Marriott, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, California won against Monte Vista on Wednesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Grizzlies beat the Mustangs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Grizzlies sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ryken Redondo looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has become a key player for California: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

Dougherty Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for California, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
