Softball Recap: Chalker Wildcats vs. Mineral Ridge Rams

It was a good run, but Chalker unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 17-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mineral Ridge Rams. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (ten), Chalker still had to take the loss.

Kylee Iser was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Morgan Strock, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

On Mineral Ridge's side, Savannah Turek was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Turek was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Mineral Ridge got a massive performance out of Aaliyah Wall, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Haynie, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Chalker's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Mineral Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chalker will square off against Bristol at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
