Basketball Game Preview: Coldwater Cavaliers vs. Minster Wildcats

Coldwater is 0-10 against Minster since February of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Coldwater Cavaliers will venture away from home to take on the Minster Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.

Last Thursday, Coldwater lost to Marion Local at home by a 45-26 margin. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Flyers are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, Minster entered their tilt with Wapakoneta on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Redskins 51-36.

Minster pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points over those games. As for Coldwater, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Coldwater came up short against Minster in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 37-33. Can Coldwater avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
