Softball Recap: Clear Lake Finds Home Field Redemption Against Kelseyville

There's no place like home for Clear Lake, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Kelseyville Knights on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Knights back in April, they had to take a 5-3 defeat.

Atiana Patino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Karsyn Greer, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindee Bingham, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Clear Lake now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Kelseyville, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Clear Lake and Kelseyville will both be playing Cloverdale the next time they take the field. The Cardinals will head out to face the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
