Softball Recap: Rappahannock's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Rappahannock entered their tilt with Westmoreland on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Avery Brann made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cameron Nash, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024. Kahler Goodman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Rappahannock pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Westmoreland, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Rappahannock will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
