Baseball Recap: Will Hanson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bishop Timon-St. Jude

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cathedral Prep, St. Francis was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bishop Timon-St. Jude Tigers a 2-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Red Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Aidan Curran's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because St. Francis is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-10-1 otherwise.

At the plate, St. Francis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Hanson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

St. Francis' record is now 4-11-1. As for Bishop Timon-St. Jude, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Coming up, St. Francis will challenge Williamsville North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Timon-St. Jude will be paying especially close attention to the Red Raiders' contest: after the Red Raiders face off against the Spartans, they'll take on Bishop Timon-St. Jude again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
