Baseball Recap: Centaurus Find Success

Centaurus let Mead stack seven runs on them in the third inning on Thursday but luckily Centaurus prevailed anyway. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Mavericks 13-12. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 win the Mavericks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Centaurus got a massive performance out of Ben Sehnert, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Sehnert a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Brutsch, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

The victory made it two in a row for Centaurus and bumps their season record up to 8-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Mead, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-7.

Coming up, Centaurus will head out to square off against Horizon at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Mead, they will welcome Monarch at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Coyotes will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
