Preview: Brewbaker Tech Rams vs. Demopolis Tigers
Brewbaker Tech is 3-0 against Demopolis since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. Both teams will face off at 1:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brewbaker Tech has four straight victories, Demopolis has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Brewbaker Tech posted their biggest victory since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They claimed a resounding 68-9 victory over Varsity Opponent at home.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brewbaker Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jillian Baine, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and three steals. Baine is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Martin, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Demopolis ended up a good deal behind Sipsey Valley on Saturday and lost 44-26.
Brewbaker Tech's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Demopolis, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Brewbaker Tech against Demopolis in their previous meeting on Thursday as the squad secured a 69-23 victory. Does Brewbaker Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will Demopolis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
