Lowell had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hobart Brickies by a score of 3-1. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Brickies, too.
While Lowell might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Hobart scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20.
Dafne Aguilar-Martinez paced Lowell's offense, picking up nine kills. Aguilar-Martinez also shared the team's lead in assists with Josie Laub: they picked up 14 each. Aubrey Fleming controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.
Lowell's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Hobart, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowell is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Kankakee Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hobart, they will head out to face off against Merrillville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
