Basketball Recap: Isabelle Akoumbou's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Arcadia over Marcos De Niza

Arcadia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost to the Marcos de Niza Padres at home by a 48-34 margin. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Padres earlier this season, when they won 35-30.

Arcadia's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabelle Akoumbou, who posted four points in addition to six boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Akoumbou a new career-high in rebounds. Ahnaiya Anderson was another key player, putting up eight points along with six boards and four steals.

Marcos de Niza's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kiana Greer, who put up 21 points. Greer has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Elyanna Carbajal, who scored four points in addition to 17 rebounds and seven steals.

Arcadia's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Marcos de Niza, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-20.

As of now, neither Arcadia nor Marcos de Niza have any future games scheduled.
