Baseball Recap: Montgomery Central Takes a Loss

Montgomery Central came into this matchup off a tough eight-run defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Creek Wood Red Hawks by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Indians have suffered since March 17th.

Dylan Fulton was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Fulton was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Montgomery Central and nudges their season record down to 5-11. As for Creek Wood, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery Central will host Houston County at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Fighting Irish have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.43 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Creek Wood, they will be playing at home against Dickson County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
