Volleyball Recap: Westlake Takes a Loss

Westlake was the 3-2 winner over Buckeye when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Demons fell 3-1 to the Bucks on Wednesday. The Demons just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-17, 18-25, 25-13.

Leah Navratil paced Westlake's offense, picking up eight kills. Navratil got some help from Rowan Krall and her 11 assists. Emma Borman and Olive VanDetta kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Among those leading the charge was Claire Miller, who had ten digs and four aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven contests. Ava Wolf also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Buckeye, their victory ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13.

Westlake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against North Olmsted on the 7th. As for Buckeye, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Valley Forge on the 7th.
