Basketball Game Preview: Waverly Ravens vs. International School of Los Angeles Lions

The Waverly Ravens and the International School of Los Angeles Lions will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waverly is looking for their season's first win.

Waverly is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They lost to New Covenant Academy at home by a 52-36 margin on Thursday.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Frank Kilbury, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Dashiell Hatem, who earned seven points.

Meanwhile, International School of Los Angeles had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They secured a 56-50 W over Southwestern Academy last Friday. The Lions' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

International School of Los Angeles' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Waverly, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Waverly skirted past International School of Los Angeles 55-53 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Will Waverly repeat their success, or does International School of Los Angeles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
