Basketball Game Preview: Cross County Thunderbirds vs. East Poinsett County Warriors

Having just played yesterday, the Cross County Thunderbirds will head out on the road to face off against the East Poinsett County Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cross County will be strutting in after a win while East Poinsett County will be coming in after a defeat.

On Monday, Cross County strolled past Piggott with points to spare, taking the game 44-29. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunderbirds.

Meanwhile, East Poinsett County unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Monday. They received a blow as they fell 67-50 to Izard County. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Cougars are ranked 30th).

Cross County's victory bumped their record up to 11-15. As for East Poinsett County, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9.

Cross County suffered a grim 59-34 defeat to East Poinsett County in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of East Poinsett County's Allison Gaines, who went 12 for 21 en route to 30 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.
