MAIS AAA I District 2 recap Oct. 23, 2012
Jackson Prep extended the longest winning streak in MAIS AAA I District 2 this week by beating Hillcrest Christian, 57-0. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Patriots.
Jackson Prep took down the Cougars 57-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ryan Buchanan threw for 65 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Ricky Black's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Hamel McGraw chipped in 57 yards. Richard Baird helped Jackson Prep's passing attack out by catching one ball for 33 yards.
Jake Williams was the best wideout in the league this week as the Patriots bested Hillcrest Christian. Williams racked up two receptions for 65 yards.
Jackson Prep's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Buchanan has thrown for 1140 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while McGraw has 14 catches for 267 yards. McGraw leads the league in rushing with 1034 yards.
A big matchup in MAIS AAA I District 2 this week will be when Parklane Academy takes on Jackson Prep. The Pioneers are currently in third, while the Patriots are in first.
Jackson Prep led the league in scoring this week after putting up 57 points on Tommy Roberts' team. Buchanan in the win.
