Basketball Recap: Charlton County Comes Up Short

Charlton County lost to Hilliard back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Indians fell 67-63 to the Red Flashes.

When it comes to explaining why Charlton County lost, don't look at Trevan Cobb. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-11 to rack up 32 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Cobb is becoming a predictor of the Indians' success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is 2-1 (and 7-9 when he doesn't). Christian Brown was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Hilliard found their leader in sophomore King McMillian, who shot 45% from the field en route to 24 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. With that strong performance, McMillian is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Shane Harvey II, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 15 points.

Charlton County now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Hilliard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Charlton County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-31 victory against Lanier County on the 27th. As for Hilliard, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-22 win against Fernandina Beach on the 26th.
