Softball Recap: Scott Has No Trouble Against Holy Cross

Scott won the last time they faced Holy Cross and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 8-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Scarlett Cochran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ashlyn Riley was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Elise Manhardt was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Scott's victory bumped their record up to 10-16-1. As for Holy Cross, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scott will welcome Bishop Brossart at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Holy Cross, they will square off against Beechwood at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
