Basketball Recap: Carrick Takes a Loss

Carrick won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a blow against the Taylor Allderdice Dragons, falling 83-48. The Raiders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

It was another big night for Lukas Stead, who went 7 of 9 en route to 14 points and three steals for Taylor Allderdice. Stead is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keith Taylor, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 10 points.

Carrick's loss dropped their record down to 6-7. As for Taylor Allderdice, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrick will venture away from home to challenge Perry Traditional Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taylor Allderdice, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against McDowell at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Taylor Allderdice is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.7 points per game this season.
