Baseball Game Preview: Verdugo Hills Dons vs. North Hollywood Huskies

For the second straight game, Verdugo Hills will face off against North Hollywood. The Dons will host the Huskies at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Verdugo Hills has five straight wins, North Hollywood has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Verdugo Hills earned a 5-2 victory over North Hollywood. That's two games straight that the Dons have won by exactly three runs.

The team relied heavily on Miguel Wong, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Cutlor Gouger-Fannon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Verdugo Hills pushed their record up to 6-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Hollywood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
