Basketball Recap: Fairbury Takes a Loss

Fairbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 61-28 loss at the hands of the David City Scouts. If the Jeffs were looking for revenge after losing 44-27 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Fairbury lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Evelyn Timmons, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Timmons has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Ohlde, who posted eight points.

Fairbury's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for David City, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Fairbury will head out on the road to square off against Palmyra at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th. As for David City, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-47 win against Superior on the 4th.
