Basketball Recap: Charles J. Colgan's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

It was a good run, but Charles J. Colgan unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 60-47 to the Potomac Senior Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Panthers are ranked 37th).

Potomac Senior was led to victory by Yusef Navins and Harlem Lyons. Navins went 5 of 11 en route to 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, while Lyons posted 14 points and three steals. That's the most assists Navins has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Medwyn Oduko Authur, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 11 points.

Charles J. Colgan's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for Potomac Senior, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Charles J. Colgan will venture away from home to challenge Hylton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Potomac Senior has already played their next contest (against Gar-Field), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
