Baseball Game Preview: Patterson Lumberjacks vs. South Lafourche Tarpons

The Patterson Lumberjacks are taking a road trip to face off against the South Lafourche Tarpons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Patterson has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while South Lafourche will arrive with three straight wins.

Patterson fell victim to John Curtis Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, South Lafourche never let their opponents score on Saturday. They put the hurt on Bonnabel with a sharp 15-0 victory. The contest marked the Tarpons' most dominant win of the season so far.

Kooper Worley made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That run marked the first that he scored this season.

In other batting news, South Lafourche got a massive performance out of Julian Morales, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Morales a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Ledet, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

South Lafourche always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

South Lafourche now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Patterson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
