Baseball Recap: Shepherd Comes Up Short

Shepherd lost against Tarkington last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Shepherd Pirates came up short against the Tarkington Longhorns, falling 12-3. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shepherd saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Hobgood, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. The dominant performance gave Hobgood a new career-high in hits.

Shepherd now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Tarkington, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-10-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shepherd will welcome Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tarkington, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Hamshire-Fannett at 7:00 p.m. Tarkington is facing Hamshire-Fannett at the right time seeing as Hamshire-Fannett is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
