Football Recap: Knott County Central Starts Season with Win Against Harlan

Knott County Central gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Harlan Green Dragons 50-0. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Knott County Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carson Hall, who threw for 84 yards and two TDs. Isaiah Wilkinson was in the mix too, providing the Patriots with one score.

Knott County Central didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Mason Hampton, Micheal Gibson, and Shane Gibson picked up one apiece. Knott County Central received some extra help from Wilkinson, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knott County Central will face off against Jackson County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Harlan, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Morgan County at 7:30 p.m. on September 5.
