Football Recap: Valor South Austin Falcons vs. New Braunfels Thunder Homeschool
After flying high against Hill Country K last Friday, Valor South Austin came back down to earth. The Valor South Austin Falcons took a 50-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Braunfels Thunder Homeschool on Friday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Homeschool apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
New Braunfels Thunder found their leader in underclassman John Kroesche, who rushed for 259 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. With that strong performance, Kroesche is now averaging an impressive 117.8 rushing yards per game.
Valor South Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for New Braunfels Thunder, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valor South Austin will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jubilee at 7:00 p.m. on October 4th. As for New Braunfels Thunder, they will square off against Calvary Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
