Football Recap: Andrew Jackson Falls to Bluffton in First Game of Season

Andrew Jackson kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 49-21 defeat at the hands of the Bluffton Bobcats. The Volunteers were not able to make up for their loss to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Aedan McCarthy had a dynamite game For Bluffton., rushing for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 313 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes. McCarthy is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Roman Benjamin, who picked up 102 receiving yards and two scores.

Bluffton has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Andrew Jackson is taking a road trip to challenge Indian Land at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bluffton, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Savannah Country Day at 7:30 p.m.
