Basketball Game Preview: Curlew Cougars vs. Waterville Shockers

The Curlew Cougars will take on the Waterville Shockers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Curlew will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Saturday, Curlew earned a 42-30 victory over Selkirk.

Curlew found their leader in sophomore Annika Baker, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 boards. Baker's afternoon made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Bineau, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Curlew smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Waterville got the win against La Center on Saturday by a conclusive 65-41. The Shockers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 24 points or more this season.

Waterville's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 44.2 points. As for Curlew, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
