Volleyball Recap: Buhach Colony Thunder vs. Merced Bears
After flying high against Los Banos on Tuesday, Buhach Colony came back down to earth. The Thunder fell 3-1 to the Merced Bears on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.
Buhach Colony started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 12-25, 25-18, 25-21, 26-24.
Among those leading the charge was Isaak Bankhead, who had 25 assists and five digs. Those 25 assists gave him a new career-high. Cayden McKain also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.
Buhach Colony's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Merced, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.
Buhach Colony has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Golden Valley on the 15th. As for Merced, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against El Capitan on the 15th.
