Volleyball Recap: Alton Triumphs

Alton won the last time they faced Cahokia and things went their way on Monday too. The Redbirds walked away with a 2-0 win over the Comanches.

Alton easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-17.

Ja'Kayla Steen paced Alton's offense, picking up six kills. Steen got some help from Mackenzie Cochran and her seven assists. Gracie Milford controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Alton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season. As for Cahokia, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alton will welcome Belleville West at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cahokia, they will host Mt. Vernon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
