Baseball Recap: Heritage Academy Takes a Loss

Heritage Academy was the 5-3 winner over St. John Paul II Catholic when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Heritage Academy Heroes took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. John Paul II Catholic Lions on Wednesday.

Jared Wittman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Morgan Williams was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Scottsdale Preparatory Academy at 2:45 p.m. on March 17th. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they will challenge Phoenix Country Day at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
