Basketball Recap: Dorchester Picks Up 11th Straight Win on the Road

Dorchester hadn't done well against McCool Junction recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Dorchester Longhorns strolled past the McCool Junction Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 46-27. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 200th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

McCool Junction's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Hall, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Claire Brugger, who put up nine points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Dorchester pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.6 points over those games. As for McCool Junction, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

As of now, neither Dorchester nor McCool Junction have any future games scheduled.
