Recap: Huntington Highlanders vs. Riverside Warriors
The Huntington Highlanders won against the Riverside Warriors last Monday with 84 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Huntington breezed by the Warriors at home to the tune of 84-49. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Huntington has managed all season.
Huntington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mikey Johnson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Avonte Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.
Huntington is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Riverside, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13.
Huntington will face off against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Shady Spring knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully the Highlanders likes a good challenge. As for Riverside, they will be playing at home against the Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
