West Wendover has gone 9-1 against Coral Academy of Science - Reno recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Battle Mountain. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 21, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Coral Academy of Science - Reno started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 29-27, 25-11, 25-20.
West Wendover will need to focus on slowing down Lexi Johnson, one of several Coral Academy of Science - Reno players who made an impact when they last played. She had 11 assists and eight digs. Another player making a difference was Sierra Moros, who had seven digs and two aces.
West Wendover's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Coral Academy of Science - Reno, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
West Wendover took their win against Coral Academy of Science - Reno in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
