Baseball Recap: Walla Walla Comes Up Short

Walla Walla extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pasco Bulldogs. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 12-3.

As for Pasco, they now have a winning record of 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for they as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

For Pasco's part, their victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rj Lopez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Lopez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Seth Lane also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Coming up, Walla Walla will challenge Hermiston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pasco, they will square off against Kennewick at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
