Volleyball Preview: Sumter Stays Home Again to Host Trinity Collegiate

The Sumter Gamecocks have The luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome The Trinity Collegiate Titans at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Thursday, Sumter didn't have quite enough to beat West Florence and fell 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Sumter sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final set scores came out to 25-15, 15-25, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Trinity Collegiate kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 3-0 to Heathwood Hall Episcopal.

While Trinity Collegiate had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-20, 25-20, 25-19.

Sumter's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Trinity Collegiate, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-1.
